DRWC What is DRWC?The Developing Readers and Writers Course (DRWC) is an accelerated intervention program that addresses the needs of the students in grade 9 who have demonstrated delayed reading in areas of decoding, encoding, fluency, and comprehension. Two levels of DRWC are taught; Level I - cover reading instruction beginning with grades 1-4. Level II – covers reading instruction for grades 5-8. The DRWC program is designed to provide secondary students with a structured curriculum taught during a double period instructional block. 9th Grade students enrolled in DRWC will receive 9th grade English credits as well as English elective credits.
