Police Academy Magnet

The Police Academy Magnet at San Pedro High School is a four-year program that focuses on a career in law enforcement. Students enrolled in our program participate in four years of physical training, specialized forensic science and law classes as well as computer training. We service students in grades 9 – 12 and our enrollment capacity is 113.

We have a primary partnership with the Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles School Police Department. The Departments provide sworn officers to work with the students in the program daily and those officers are assigned to our school site. The officers are the backbone of the program because they provide the tie to law enforcement. Other partners include the Pt. Fermin Light House and EastView Little League.
